Danielle Gilbert

I perform collections-based research which explores the history of collecting, knowledge production, and first encounters, especially in regard to collections and landscapes with contested histories. My research interests include ontology, alterity, transformation, loss, and the environment; the use of comparative language in anthropology; narratives about cultural heritage and the expression of identity.
