Heritage Debate 21st October 2019: Reaching for Net Zero?

Mon, 21 October 2019, 18:00 – 21:30 BST

The Adelphi Suite, The Waldorf Hilton, Aldwych, London, WC2B 4DD

Please join us for an evening of lively debate followed by drinks and a buffet reception in the Waldorf's beautiful Palm Court.

This years’ debate will be centred around the challenge: “Reaching for Net Zero?” and will focus on the relationship between heritage and the environment. At a time when countries around the world, including the UK, are making commitments to move to a net zero emissions economy, now is the time to ensure that the heritage sector is involved in these discussions as we move into the future.

Participants will hopefully leave with a sense of the challenges the sector faces and the motivation to think more creatively about these issues and the changing relationship between heritage and the environment.

The Heritage Debate panel will feature the environmentalist and climate change communicator David Saddington, the environmental adviser for the National Trust Keith Jones, Historic England's leading environmental analyst Dr Meredith Wiggins, the Head of Environmental Research Dr Hannah Fluck, Capital & Centric's co-founder Tim Heatley and Faith Kitchen, Heritage Director for Ecclesiastical Insurance.

We are very grateful to Ecclesiastical Insurance Group for sponsoring this event.
