OUHN Virtual Heritage Tea Recap: Dr Lia Costiner introduces the (En)coding Heritage Network
"Everyone can use immersive technology and produce an enhanced experience with heritage." With this bold statement Lia Costiner from the (En)Coding Heritage network took us on a tour through immersive technology at our last Virtual Heritage Tea. She introduced us to the X-Reality Hub, which brings together digital experts with people from inside and outside academia who want to learn and use these modern techniques. Apart from creating immersive experiences, our conversation also tackled topics such as data sustainability and the values of virtual vs real objects. Is it all visual or can the digital experience in fact be more than that? We were brimming with excitement as of the potential and opportunities to explore.
