East Oxford Archaeology: Urban Landscape Research & Community Heritage recap

"Naughty Nuns" and "digging in your own backyard" were among a host of local archaeology topics we "unearthed" in our first Virtual Heritage Conversation of the year. David Griffiths, Professor of Archaeology introduced us to the successful project Archaeox: East Oxford Archaeology – Urban Landscape Research & Community Heritage. Not only did the project promote a non-hierarchical collaboration between researchers and members of the public, it also provided a fresh understanding of East Oxford, invigorated other local projects such as archaeological excavations in Littlemore and above all sounded like great fun.
